Borgata Poker Returns with Kerstetter and Platt as Commentary Duo

Popular commentators pegged for much-anticipated Return MTT at Borgata

Jamie Kerstetter and Jeff Platt are two of the most in-demand poker commentators in the business. It was only natural that BetMGM and Borgata tapped each to lead the poker audience through the Borgata Return Main Event final table, both on the livestream and via Twitter.

The Return was the apt name of the January 2023 set of tournaments at Borgata in Atlantic City, New Jersey. The four tournaments would ring in the new year and culminate in Main Event with $3M guaranteed, of which the winner would receive $1M. Players had been wanting big buy-ins and guarantees to return to the East Coast for years.

BetMGM and Borgata wanted recognizable poker personalities, faces, and voices to promote the tournament on social media and then take over the BetMGM Poker Twitter account during the Main Event. Kerstetter and Platt then served as the lead commentators for the livestreamed final table.

Kerstetter is an attorney by trade but her heart has belonged to poker since the poker boom. She quickly became a force in online poker and at the live tournament tables, but her innate understanding of the game and its intricacies made her a good fit as a voice for the game. She has commentated on poker for the likes of the WPT and WSOP.

Platt had a sports anchor and reporting background before joining the poker world in 2018 as a poker reporter and podcast host. He quickly became a poker fan favorite on PokerGO broadcasts and livestreams, and he is widely considered one of the best in the business.

The WPT tapped Kerstetter to work with Platt at the WPT World Championship in December 2022, so it was natural for BetMGM and Borgata to request their talent and influence for the Return series in January 2023. This duo of poker specialists brought in viewers from far beyond the US shores, doling out the fun of poker through the commentary booth and out to the masses of poker fans.
